This monumental Napoleon III style fireplace was made of oak wood during the second half of the 19th century. The curved legs are carved with realistic lion heads in very high relief. They carry in their mouths a garland of flowers and fruit falls down the jambs. This antique fireplace is crowned with a projecting cornice. The sides of the fireplace also have a curved feature on them and are decorated with an oak leaf.
This fireplace was originally designed with a plaster shelf and hood. We can make a marble or wood shelf top on demand.
