Beautiful antique Japanese style fireplace mantel (see our article on Japonism ) made out of painted wood and carved in low relief during the 19th century. The center of the frieze is carved as a cartridge with foliate branches of a bonsai, small tree grown in a pot according to the Chinese and Japanese traditions.
The legs are carved as bamboo stems forming a grid, with foliages.
Feet are figured with double windings.
This fireplace is sold without any fireplace insert nor floor.
