Beautiful pair of antique Louis XV style andirons made in bronze with two patinas in the 19th century. On an foliated base, a sitting winged putto grabs with both hands the long neck of a threatening eagle-beaked chimera.
Very fine work of bronze-maker. We note in particular the seriousness of the putti, eyes focused. Beautiful chiseling, especially in the work of chimeras and putti's wings .
