Signed by the famous French painter and ceramic decorator Edouard Dammouse, this pair of lamps is dated 1885. Made of ceramic, both lamps are richly decorated in a Neo-Renaissance style. The decor painted in gray and shades of blue contrasts with a dark blue background. Interlaced lines form different cartridges where are represented the Salamander of the King François Ier or three intertwined C for Diane de Poitiers. In the spandrels, birds, ducks, snakes and chimeras are depicted.
