An elegant Art Deco-style interior door, dating from the 1930s, which combines the warmth of wood with the graphic modernity of wrought ironwork.

The door leaf, crafted from wood stained in a mahogany tone, features a large glazed section occupying the upper two-thirds, set above a solid panel accented by double vertical fluted moldings. The glazed area is fitted with translucent, textured "granite" glass, which diffuses light while maintaining privacy between rooms.

The design is enhanced by applied wrought-iron ornamentation—finished with a black patina and featuring hammered, chiseled details typical of the period. A prominent central motif, reminiscent of an hourglass or a bow tie and punctuated by a stack of small squares, is set within a stepped frame. The lower portion of the glazing is enlivened by a frieze of interlocking arches forming a scale-like pattern, while a series of small, dash-like elements adorns the top of the composition. This geometric vocabulary—at once rigorous and dynamic—is characteristic of the Art Deco style at its zenith.

The door retains its original, beautiful bronze hardware, including an elongated backplate with beveled edges and a gracefully curved handle, as well as its mortise lock and cremone bolt. The reverse side is painted in a cream hue and displays a patina consistent with the piece's age.
