This antique overmantel was made in the 19th century in gilt wood and stucco. It belongs to the Napoleon III style, a period that revisited ancient ornamental vocabulary. In this case, it's a reinterpretation of the Regence style.
The mirror is framed by a frieze of intertwined spheres, topped with a central cartouche supported by acanthus leaves and garlands of flowers.
