This antique very large Transition style fireplace, with impressive dimensions, was made in Belgium out of Carrara marble during the 19th century. The fireplace features numerous elaborately carved decorations. The entablature is decorated in the center with a rosette, which is framed at the bottom with a semi-circular feature that hangs down. The rosette is surrounded by a realistic flower garland, from which friezes of waves spread across the rest of the entablature. The jambs are also decorated all over with rosettes and garlands. The opening on the hearth is made up of a row of pearls carved in high relief.
This antique fireplace is sold without any fireplace insert or hearth, but they can be made to order.
