This fireplace is particularly remarkable for the detail given to the large central shell, as well as to the side shells. This composition of three shells is typical of Louis XV-style fireplaces, borrowing the shell from the Rocaille style. The curved band of the fireplace is particularly decorated in the center. The central shell is worked in relief and detail, treated with very fine lines. This precision extends to the other elements that surround it, such as the acanthus leaves, scrolls, and shells. The line work in this central composition contrasts with the rest of the band, with its coarser strokes and simpler lines. Beneath the central shell, acanthus leaves are carved, folding in on themselves and developing into a curved border running around the inside of the fireplace. The console section is linked to the rest of the leg by a string of floral and leafy motifs running down the length of the base. This enfilade starts from the scroll on which a shell is carved, and from this shell flows the other motifs. The hollowed console contrasts with the curved part of the leg, revealing scrolls on the sides. At the end of the leg, an acanthus leaf rises to the top.

This fireplace is sold without narrowing or hearth slab, but these can be made to order (subject to marble availability).
