This elegant mantel was made in Semi Statuary or - Statuario in italian - Carrara marble during the 19th century. Rare model, this fireplace presents a delicate and refined decor.
It is carved in low-relief with a scrollworks bow fronted frieze. The endblocks are ornamented with paterae. The angled and rounded jambs are carved with acanthus leaves, ribbon and flowers, resting on footblocks.
This fireplace is sold with an antique cast iron insert but without the original marble floor. This one could be made to order.
