This very beautiful mantel was made of Carrara marble in the second half of the 19th century. It receives an abundant decor, typical of the Napoleon III style answering the pomp taste of this sumptuous period. Thus, one can see on the header an imposing cartouche adorned with a holly leaves torus and framed by a frieze of acanthus scrolls. The header is flanked by jambs that are not less decorated as they take the shape of pilasters and receive a square rose above a triglyph with drops surmounting a beautiful piastres frieze.
This fireplace comes with an antique cast iron insert adapted to this fireplace but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order (please ask for marble availability).
