This semi-statuary marble fireplace is in the Louis XVI-style. This style is reflected in the use of foliage and ribbons, the pilasters, and the shape of the band, which refers to Ancient Greece.
The band of this fireplace is divided into three parts. A rectangular central section with a smooth base carved with a garland of flowers hanging from ribbons. The other two parts are symmetrical, on either side of this central motif, fluted throughout.
The console part of the leg is decorated with a floral motif based on acanthus leaves and a central button in relief. The rest of the leg represents a pilaster in which field flowers are placed.
This fireplace comes with its original cast-iron interior featuring intersecting leafy branches forming a regular geometrical pattern.
This fireplace is sold with its original cast iron insert and with its marble floor.
