The top and the left side were restored.
In the center of the serpentine front, a rich foliated shell is carved. It is carved on each sides with cartouches and cercles, which enhance the beauty of the marble.
The angled fluted jambs are also molded with cartouches.
The cast iron insert is a complete hearth made out of cast iron plates. The decor includes elements of the Rocaille style vocabulary ornamentation : acanthus, ribboned canes, branches, flowers, scrollwork and scrolls.
This fireplace is sold with its original cast iron insert and its original three squares marble floor.
