This mantel presents large console slightly angled jambs. The entablature is adorned with a fluted frieze and the console heads are embellished with square rosettes. The shelf is delicately curved.
The style is Transition, which preceded the Louis XVI style.
The Peach flower marble was very popular during the Second Empire, because of its luxurous colors and veins.
