Large antique Regency style fireplace in Rouge Griotte marble

This beautiful and large fireplace was sculpted out rouge Griotte marble at the end of the 19th century. It shows a very rich and sculpted decoration remarkable by the precision of the details. The feet slightly curved are adorned with acanthus leaves and shells, they support a curved entablature underlined by a thick moulding. The center of the entablature is sculpted with a beautiful shell from which are escaping acanthus leaves inhabited by flower garlands, acanthus leaves scrolls are decorating the corners.
This fireplace is sold with a modern cast iron insert adapted to this fireplace but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order (please ask for marble availability).
