This antique Louis XVI style fireplace made of slightly veined Carrara marble was made during the 19th century. The jambs, on which large acanthus leaves drop down, support a paneled frieze decorated at its center with an oval rosette and at its ends with square rosettes. Acanthus leaves and naturalist rosettes, typical of the Louis XVI style and its taste for bucolic, were made with finesse thanks to the luxurious Carrara marble.
This fireplace is sold with its original cast iron insert but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order.
