Louis XV style mantel with the typical ornaments and design of that period. The corbel jambs are adorned with oak leaves and rectangular molded panels. The curved front of the entablature bears a large upside shell, ornate with flowers and foliage, embedded in the volutes of the round molding below that runs down to the plinths. The scrolled heads are equally adorned with upside shells, but with a floral drop. Such quality of sculpture was made possible by the beauty and refinement of the Carrara marble. The cast iron insert presents geometrical floral elements against a crisscross décor dotted with flowers.
