This cast iron fireback was made during the 20th century.
It's a very rare example as the fireback depicts a painted decoration and an openwork where almost the whole background doesn't exist. Zeus is painted in white and stands on his eagle holding in one hand the lightning, these two elements are painted in brown. The background only present on the left part and under the eagle, is decorated with stylized clouds.
