Dimensions
Width 65'' ⅜ 166cm
Height 76'' ⅜ 194cm
Depth: 10'' ⅝ 27cm
Imposing cast iron window frame in arched architectural form, characteristic of the Napoleon III style. The surface is richly decorated with molded palmette friezes, egg-and-dart motifs in relief, and stylized floral ornaments. The design achieves a fine balance between classical rigor and decorative exuberance.
Two foundry marks are visible, including that of the Becquet foundry in Saint-Dizier, active during the 19th century and renowned for its architectural cast iron production. Medium condition, with visible losses and old restorations. This frame exemplifies the decorative and structural use of cast iron during the Second Empire.
