Big Napoleon III style double door made of carved wood

This big double door was made of carved oak during the 19th century. It is decorated with two vases garnished with some fruit and flowers, foliate scrolls and garlands. The double door is surmounted by a frieze with rosettes which has a cartridge supporting a palmette on its center.

Important antique gilt bronze clock showing Ceres at the feet of Minerva presenting her shield. The dial located in an oval shield with enamelled cartridges is signed "Lerolle Fres Paris" . Louis Lerolle (1813-1875), ceded his house, a bronze foundry, to his sons, Édouard-François and Camille in 1849, who then became Lerolle brothers . At the 1849 Exhibition of Agricultural and Industrial Products in Paris, they won a silver medal. They participated in major exhibitions of the second half of the 19th century, including the World's Fair of 1867. Trained as sculptors, most of their works of art, including clocks, strongly reflect this taste for the sculptural aspect, as witness this important clock.

BACCARAT, Pair of Mounted Vases, circa 1878

This pair of vases, with an elegant flare, is characterized by its alternating colors. This is obtained through the creation of a double crystal, transparent on the inside and red on the outside. The brilliant red bands are engraved with geometric and floral patterns on the wheel, while the inner layer, released using acid or sandblasting, has the matte appearance of frosted glass. These vases are set in a gilded bronze frame resting on three elegantly curved legs, finished with balls. Medallions inscribed with the profiles of ancient Greek characters are present at the top and at the base of the frame. Finely chiseled, the frame follows the shape of the vase, and echoes the upper part, flaring towards the base. Founded under Louis XV, the French crystal factory Baccarat demonstrated its excellence at Universal Exhibitions throughout the 19th century. The Baccarat crystal factory also created a bowl on a tripod, of which it still has a copy in its heritage collection. There is a red crystal and a transparent one. Like our vases, it is decorated with classically inspired friezes and rests on a gilded bronze tripod.
