Big antique fireback with jansenist decoration

This large 18th century fireback wears the Jansenist badge representing the three Theological Virtues. Faith is thus depicted as a blindfolded woman while Hope is represented by an anchor and Charity by a flaming heart. A Latin inscription runs along this medallion "Ardet Amans Spe Nixa Fides" which means "Faith, relied on Hope, burning with the fire of Charity." This sentence appeared in the frontispiece of all Jansenists books. Finally, the medallion is surrounded on all sides by the Cardinal Virtues : Fortitude, Justice, Temperance and Prudence.

Set of stained glass windows from the 1930s, consisting of six large arched pieces (H. 100.79 inch, W. 61.02 inch), one narrower piece (H. 96.85 inch, W. 40.94 inch), two smaller pieces (H. 72.05 inch, W. 40.55 inch), one very small piece (H. 56.1 inch, W. 37.01 inch) and two round pieces (diameter 48.43 inch).

This small window shows a beautiful stained-glass decoration characteristic of the 1930-1940's, composed of geometric forms, straight and slightly curved lines in blue and ochre shades. Exceptional pair of double Louis XV curved doorsn decorated on the two faces

This pair of double curved doors was made in the late 19th century od painted in white wood. They are adorned on their two faces with a very beautiful Rococo decor in low relief. The brass locks and handles on the sunck part depict a remarkable chiseled decoration made in a very fine way composed of plants also in a Louis XV style.

Important antique lot of 19th century period floor composed of hexagonal terracotta tiles. About 1450 tiles of which the six sides are between 3 3/8 to 3"7/6 for 6" 11/16 length and 7/8" to 1"1/16 thick. The whole surface area is about 24.5 m².
