This cast iron fireback from the 18th century is elaborately decorated. In the centre, there is a medallion containing three fleurs de lys and is framed by two intertwined palm leafs. On either side, two angels are blowing on a trumpet and hold onto the royal crown.

He strides forward with a lively posture atop a naturalistic base adorned with aquatic vegetation, a frog, and a crab. Water once flowed from the mouths of the animals, as evidenced by the visible pipe openings. The figure of the satyr, taken from Greco-Roman mythology, is interpreted here with playful humor, emphasized by the joyful expression and dynamic movement. This piece forms an amusing fountain subject, typical of 19th-century garden ornamentation, blending mythological fantasy with decorative naturalism.
