This sculpture was made in the 19th century in biscuit porcelain.
The statue represents the bust of a young lady with a veil. She is dressed in the Neo-Renaissance style.
The famous sculptor Carrier-Belleuse created the model for this sculpture. Thus, it is marked "Carrier Belleuse" on the back of the base.
This sculptor was a very important artist at his time. He participated in the Garnier Opera's construction, he was in charge of the "torchères au tambourin", which were importants lamps in the main stairs. He also was the professor of Auguste Rodin.
