Mazarov (attributed to), Neo-Renaissance carved walnut cartel clock

A carved female head crowns the clock, framed by acanthus leaves and latticework.

Paul Mazaroz, a sculptor, began his career as a collaborator of Ribailler in the 1850s. At the 1855 Universal Exhibition, Mazaroz presented several pieces of furniture under his own name. His success was subsequently confirmed, notably at the Universal Exhibitions of 1867 and 1878, where he was awarded silver medals. The Mazaroz workshop ceased its activity in 1890.
