This Louis XV-period fireplace is carved in Bleu Turquin marble. This marble quarried in the Apuan Alps, Sardinia, or the Alps, was often used for 18th-century fireplaces due to its hardness and blue-gray color. The fireplace’s band features a central palmette motif around which acanthus leaves develop in an almost symmetrical fashion. The rest of the band is quite simple, with moldings that follow the inner contours of the band, highlighting two surfaces. The console part of the leg is carved with a scroll from which an acanthus leaf unfurls. The rest of the leg is decorated with two flutes interrupted by circular motifs in the middle of the leg.

This fireplace is sold with its original cast iron insert, the bottom plate of which is broken, and with its marble floor.
