This beautiful mantel was made in wood in the second half oof the 18th century.
It shows a very rich sculpted rococo decoration. The console jambs are adorned with flowers, acanthus leaves and stylized shells. They support a serpentine entablature decorated on its center with a very beautiful sculpted motif composed of a small shell surrounded by acanthus leaves scrolls, typical of the Louis XV style. Two small flowers are flanking the central motif of the frieze.
This fireplace is sold without any fireplace insert nor marble floor but could be made to order.
