This fireplace is made of white demi-statuaire marble, a light and smooth stone that enhances the sculpted details. It shows a uniform tone, gently softened by fine natural nuances that add depth to the surface.
The composition follows a balanced structure. The entablature is restrained, highlighted on the façade by a frieze adorned with a garland of leaves hanging down, held at each end by two rosette flowers. This central ornament, discreet yet precise, reflects the geometric and measured spirit of the period.
The jambs, straight with a slight curve at the front, are enriched with carved vegetal drops. These ornaments descend vertically along the uprights, combining finely cut leaves with stylised fruits. Their presence provides a decorative contrast to the rigor of the lines, creating a balance between architectural sobriety and ornamental richness.
The fireplace is fitted with a cast iron insert. It features relief decoration composed of floral motifs spreading around the opening. These details, visible in depth, complement the marble with a play of materials and textures.
This fireplace is sold with its original cast iron insert but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order (please ask for marble availability).
