This beautiful Louis XV mantel was made of Brecci di Seravezza marble in the late 19th century. Its decoration is lightened up with finely chiseled gilt bronzes.
Its serpentine entablature is adorned on its center with an important shell framed by acanthus leaves and flowers garlands in gilt bronze. Also underlined by an oblong moulding, it is supported by slightly curved jambs. Sculpted in a very sober way, they receive beautiful Louis XV and Louis XVI gilt bronze decorations such as acanthus leave onthe upper corners and lower part and a laurel torus above the hoof.
This fireplace is sold with a modern cast iron insert adapted to this fireplace but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order (please ask for marble availability).
