Antique mantel from the mid 19th century made out grey Turquin marble. Its straight lined design is enhanced by carved foliage features on the entablature and the jambs. This fireplace is original due to the features that decorate it; they are not carved like normally, instead they are engraved. In the centre of the entablature, a medallion is decorated with a flower with six petals, whilst the exterior ring framing it, is decorated with a laurel wreath. The top of the jambs are also decorated with a floral medallion. Their tips are slightly roughened in order to enhance the marble surface. The jambs are decorated in two places. At the bottom, they are decorated with an engraved frieze alternating between oak leaves and acorns. At the top, a medallion with vegetal decoration is framed by two palm leaves.
This fireplace is sold without any insert nor marble floor but they can be made to order.
