This Empire style mantel was made of Breche de Waulsort at the end of the 19th century.
The jambs take the form of detached square columns whose bases and capitals are made of alabaster. They support an entablature adorned with alabaster motifs in low relief with two eagles in the center looking at each other over a quiver and a torch and in the corners putti straddling a stylized swan.
This fireplace is sold without shrinkage or hearth slab but it can be made on demand (depending on marble availability).
