This fireback was made of cast iron in the 19th century.
It depicts Zeus riding his eagle and holding in his left hand the thunderbolt. The two characters are depicting in a Rococo decoration composed of scrolls of acanthus leaves and flowers bouquets, the whole is crowned with a shell.
